National Healthcare Organizations Embrace Qstream Mobile Solution to Achieve Higher Standards of Patient Care

Simple and Interactive, Clinicians Prefer Qstream 3:1 Over Alternative Knowledge Reinforcement Methods; Breakthrough Approach Helps Differentiate Medical Programs

BURLINGTON, MA (August 17, 2015) – Qstream, provider of mobile software that helps reinforce clinician skills in just minutes a day, today announced increased adoption of its solution by some of the nation’s top medical centers, continuing medical education providers and healthcare associations. Developed at Harvard Medical School, Qstream’s approach is scientifically proven in more than 20 clinical trials to boost retention and durably change clinical practice patterns to improve patient outcomes.

The platform will be used to advance a broad range of skills, including cardiovascular care, emergency medicine, immunization and patient safety. New customers include:

  • American College of Cardiology, which uses Qstream to support mobile education programs on heart health and cardiovascular care for specialists.
  • The Centre for HIV/AIDS Prevention Studies (CHAPS), which, in collaboration with Johns Hopkins University affiliate Jhpiego, will use Qstream to better prepare health workers in South Africa to administer its voluntary medical male circumcision (VMMC) program.
  • Emory Healthcare, which will use Qstream to improve employee understanding of electronic medical record (EMR) and clinical technologies.
  • Forefront Collaborative, which has expanded its use of Qstream to complement and reinforce their continuing medical education curriculum on adult immunization.
  • Maine Medical Center, which has made Qstream part of its Advanced Surgical Technology and Education Center (ASTEC) initiative to drive improved patient safety and clinical knowledge with clinicians and surgical residents.
  • Olive View-UCLA Medical Center, which is implementing Qstream to help train students, physicians, and other providers on a range of topics, including clinical ultrasound and emergency medicine.
  • University of Florida College of Pharmacy, which added Qstream to its Professional Practice Skills Laboratory course to teach first-year pharmacy students about the most commonly used “Top 200” medications.
  • University of Michigan Health Systems Department of Urology, which is adopting Qstream as part of their residency curriculum.
  • Vanderbilt University Medical Center, which is offering a Qstream-powered quality improvement program for its Otolaryngology residents.
  • Veterans Affairs (VA) Boston Healthcare System, which will roll out Qstream to more than 3,600 employees to reinforce education on topics ranging from Joint Commission Standards to access and scheduling.

Using Qstream, clinicians respond to brief scenario-based challenges pushed to their mobile device, while built-in game mechanics, such as scoring and leaderboards, deliver a 94% average engagement rate. Qstream’s Predictive Insights Engine then synthesizes and analyzes response data in real-time to track performance, and proactively identify knowledge and skills gaps.
